I draw more than I sleep. I kern more than I sleep. I ‘save document as flattened tif’ more than I sleep. Come to think of it, I probably don’t get enough sleep. My lack of rest has a payoff, though – I get to draw, fold and print my notions and hunches into meaningful messages, all day and all night. I like to start a project by drawing thumbnails in little ruled boxes, writing ordered lists, and circling research details. Then I take my red pencil crayon readjust, remake, and redraft until I see something exciting take shape. I like to imagine that I can drag that bright red line out of my sketchbook, and weave it into my design work and my life.
